A retired Metropolitan Police Service Superintendent

"My time working with Wayne was one of the highlights of my 32 year career with the MPS,11 years of which I spent at the ranks of Chief Inspector and above. Wayne has an instinctive grasp of leadership. He has the rare gift of driving performance and developing his staff (myself included) whilst remaining positive, approachable and nurturing a working environment of learning and loyalty irrespective of the pressure to deliver. Upon retiring from the service I returned as a contractor to deliver a six month course of leadership training for supervisors in  the MPS. When I spoke about the positive traits required for effective leadership of a complex organisation in the 21st century, many of the examples I used were based upon the traits I had picked up from Wayne.

A City of London Police Constable

"In my capacity as Chairman of the City of London Police Federation, I worked with Wayne on an almost daily basis. As soon as he was appointed Commander, it became evident that he had a deep and genuine commitment to the welfare of all staff. He was always accessible and approachable to everyone, regardless of rank.

Even on the occasions when our opinions and positions were diametrically opposed, he never failed to treat me with consideration, good humour and the utmost courtesy."

A Metropolitan Police Constable from Southwark Borough

"I worked at Southwark Borough between 2006 and 2011 and during that time Wayne Chance was my Borough Commander. From the time I met Wayne I knew he was a professional and very approachable senior officer. His support of me taking promotion exams and applying for accelerated promotion was unwavering and totally committed even though he was extremely busy. Wayne's advice and guidance was spot on and much appreciated. As well as being extremely professional Wayne is kind, caring and funny!   He is a natural leader and a great encourager. It was a pleasure and a privilege to work with and for Wayne."

A project manager previously working in the City of London regarding the Return to Work Programme

"I've just been reading about your new venture and wanted to say BRAVO! It really struck a chord with me. It is not public knowledge at all but I suffered dreadful depression shortly after the Olympics working in the City. It led to me being in a very dark place. Returning to work was almost unbearable. I was unsupported, neglected, gossiped about and felt very alone. I saw OH and my line management but felt manoeuvred, manipulated and cornered. What you are doing, the service you are offering would have been a lifeline. It will give to people who feel alone and vulnerable the support they need to take those first difficult steps and building a new normality. I wish you every success!!"
